Biography

A rare combination of mastery.

For more than 40 years, I have served as a choral conductor and artistic director of award-winning ensembles in the Washington DC Metropolitan area—one of the most competitive and culturally rich performing arts markets in the country.

Alongside that artistic life, I built a parallel career across financial services, executive recruiting, and technology services. That experience shaped how I think about governance, fundraising, hiring, and strategic planning—the disciplines that determine whether an arts organization endures.

I have also served on the boards of local, regional, and international non-profit organizations, giving me direct insight into the governance challenges my clients face every day. I have stood on the podium, sat at the board table, managed finances, led teams, and built something lasting.

That combination—artistic insider and experienced executive—is the foundation of this practice. It is also exactly what most performing arts organizations cannot find anywhere else.
